“Each of us must decide how much truth we can stand"
Irving D. Yalom
There is a lot that goes into the shaping of a life. You are the culmination of your experiences and your gifts, your triumphs and your disappointments, your past and all that has yet to come. How we have continued to process these things will create the narrative of our relationship to all who surround us, and the person that we are in the world.
Even at our worst, we can still choose how and where to stand. Depression, anxiety and relationship problems often result from a consistent commitment to a narrative that leaves us unfulfilled. Some of us believe that we are incapable of happiness. Others of us believe that we are undeserving. I believe that happiness, meaningful relationships and a life worth living are available to us all.
Often, what we want is closer than we have allowed ourselves to imagine. Perhaps we have been paying attention to the wrong things. We all have gifts. Empowerment is the process through which we permit ourselves to use them. If you are reading this now, it’s because you are considering change. I’d very much like the opportunity to explore this with you and I hope to hear from you soon.

The Good Counsel Podcast is an exploration into the world of helping professionals from various disciplines and walks of life. The goal of the podcast is to discover the motivations and methodologies of these unique individuals in order to satisfy and arouse curiosity among members of the public who have an interest in this area of discussion.
The intention of the Podcast is to incorporate a definition of ‘helping professional’ that is diverse. Good Counsel Podcast interviewees will include Psychotherapists, Medical Professionals, Life Coaches, Interventionists, Spiritual Healers, Substance Use Disorder Treatment Professionals and Educators amongst others, in order to capture a broad range of disciplines.
My hope is to increase awareness and reduce stigma among the general public around mental health issues, substance use disorders and related problems while exposing people to the abundance and variety of help that is available to them.
